Usually about once every hour or so, I do this. With this fan, I haven't kicked the AC on once. The room drops about 2 degrees with the fan constantly circulating air (i've got a temperature gauge in my room) and its low wattage (35 on low, 39/40 on medium, and 46 on high and on HIGH it reaaaally moves some crazy air) beats my AC any day (500 watts on low). I can literally run this fan for 12 hours and it's still far less wattage than my AC at one... I sleep with a fan on every night - I find the humming sound comforting and I love a nice cool breeze throughout the night - well, this is the fan! My old fan was so loud and rattled throughout the whole night, this fan is quiet and has excellent features!The oscillating feature works perfectly and smoothly, you hear no indication that the fan is turning. The timer feature is nice, but I don't tend to use it, so I can't really comment. The speed settings are great - even at it's most powerful speed, it isn't mind-boggling loud.
