This AKDY 36" island mount range hood features a contemporary Euro design in glass and stainless steel. The island mount range hood has 870 CFM and features 4x2W LED light. Easy-to-remove, dishwasher safe anodized aluminum filters keep maintenance to a minimum. The non-return air flap keeps heat from escaping when the hood is not in use. Stylish and sleek is my first response, the stainless steel matte finish on glass would go nice in any kitchen, the fan works superbly at all three speeds, and though it's not the quietest fan, it certainly isn't the loudest. The four LED lights although not as bright as I expected (not bright enough to cook by) does cast a soft glow in the dark and serves as a decent night light. Because this range vent has an adjustable height setting it can work with most ceiling heights, personally I preferred to install the vent at a height just above the top of my head so it wouldn't interfere with the view of the living room, and this required some modifications (cutting down) of the stainless steel. Overall, at almost half the cost of comparable range vents, I am very pleased with the finish product. Would definitely recommend this vent hood! Everything I found was at least twice the price of this one, so I was not expecting much, honestly, but I am impressed. The instructions are not clear, written by a non-english speaker, and it will take you some common sense of your own to install this, plus at least one or maybe two buddies to help, but our vent hood looks and works great. Oh - btw the lights are pretty useless, they look nice but don't give you a lot of working light. But that's not a problem for me, our kitchen has plenty of light anyway.
